Hey there! I’m Amy - Founder and Owner of Richmond Rugs. 

A bit of history - Richmond Rugs was established in 2020, but was known as Alchemy Décor then. After years of sourcing vintage rugs personally and professionally, a pivot toward a rug shop felt like the right move. I grew up in Ottawa and spent nearly 20 years in downtown Toronto, navigating the corporate banking world on Bay Street. In 2022, I returned to Alberta, and that’s when Richmond Rugs was reborn! After a tough year filled with big changes, I wanted to honour my late father by naming the business after his own.

I believe in sustainability, character, antique and timeless decor. I still get butterflies every time I open a new shipment of vintage rugs—it’s a sign that I’m doing what I love with my whole heart!  In a world of mass production and overconsumption, I invite you to embrace vintage. Opt for character, preservation and sustainability. No room is complete without the warmth and comfort that a rug provides.
